So what’s all the fuss about having an email list ?
The much coveted and largely misunderstood email list is cause for concern for many marketers, especially those that are in the early stages of their online business careers.
Some marketers operate their businesses for years without even having an email list – crazy as that sounds, but it’s true. The best advice to take is to start your own email list as soon as you can manage to service one sufficiently.
Some marketers are told over and over how ‘the money is in the list’ and without your own list, you’ll never succeed online.
That simply isn’t true for everyone, but it is extremely important and beneficial to have your own list, it provides you with your very own audience, with which to share tips, news and experiences with, to inform of products and services you are either promoting or have created and are offering yourself.
Other benefits are that you have access to a platform of learning that is relevant to your niche and target market, you can ask your list members what they like, dislike, want from you or are interested in. There is a wealth of data just waiting to be accessed from simply asking the people that have so kindly agreed to be on your email list.
Never forget that it is a privilege to have any one of the members on your list, let alone what it means to have a large list.
As the relationship between you and the members on your list develops, you will learn more about them as they will you, usually resulting in better sales figures and ultimately more revenue for yourself.
There are ways to ensure a higher number of subscribers, better email opening rates and indeed it is possible to increase your click through rate.
This can be done through trial and error, testing out changes to email headings, email body, link placement, sign up form look etc, etc
As achievable as this all is, many, in fact most, marketers throw the towel in and quit before they figure out email marketing and email list management
There is of course, as with most things, a flip side, an alternative, a short-cut even.
You could take advice and learn from marketers that have done all the lengthy, time consuming and hair pulling trial and error, you could learn from what has been proven to work through test after test and then apply those results to your own business, your own list building and email marketing campaigns.
Building a large and responsive email list will enable you to make more money and make it more easily than if you didn’t have one.
The question is, do you opt for the trial and error method or the fast track & proven to work method ?
